My classroom has squishy mice & rats (perfect for a computer lab!) mind bender puzzles, wacky cartoons & sayings clipped from magazines, my own ipod & docking station with a huge variety of appropriate music for them to choose from, a frig, microwave, poms, souvenirs from other years’ proms & homecomings, old yearbooks, rubber spiders, a very soft stuffed football - anything to keep them alert, involved, and feeling like this is their room!

Hi Adrian,

Yet again I am amazed by the tools you have amassed here for us to use. What would I do without you? I am just getting rolling on my 5/6 S blog on blogmeister, and am thinking of using this idea to create avatars for each student’s blog. Should be interesting, I’ll let you know.

When I do this lesson using Excel, I finish it off by having the students format the graph and recolour the columns to match the lollies.

I’ve used wordle to introduce extended text and film to students. I’ve pasted a key word list and then had the students predict what they think the text is going to be about..other members of my Dept. are now being hooked too….

things on the computer. With 7 children to school, my time is limited on the ability to do ‘extra’.
