If You Only Go to One Conference this Year…

Hey All,

If you only go to one conference this year in Australia it has to be Expanding Learning Horizons (ELH) in Lorne Victoria Australia. Watch out for the flyers as they hit your school.

This conference has great cutting edge speakers, an excellent variety of workshops to suit your interests, great food, it’s close to the beach, it has excellent after parties and best of all… it is small enough that you get one on one time over breakfast, lunch or dinner with the presenters.

Last year I managed to stalk/network with Will Richardson

and the year before that I mangaged to get a couple of straight answers out of Gary Stager hehehehe. Funny that :)

The one hassle I find with conferences like this is that I have to present at the same time as some of my Yodas.

So over the next few days I really must put together my proposals for this year’s conference and see if I’ll be accepted 3 years in a row.

    Congratulations on being accepted for three years in a row. The conference sounds fabulous but its cost is rather prohibitive. I am hoping to attend the learn2.008 which is even more prohibitive in cost, in Shanghai this year and am presenting at the ACCEC conference in Canberra. I shall look forward to reading and hearing about your reports on the conference and all the best with the planning and presenting. What topics do you present on or will be presenting on?

    As you know many people don’t fill in evaluations at conferences but for those that did, here are their responses.

    7 people rated the session as Extremely Valuable
    2 people rated it as very valuable
    And 4 people it as Interesting

    In terms of yourself
    6 people rated you as Outstanding
    3 people rated you as Excellent
    4 rated you as good

    Comments that were written for this particular session include:

    - Adrian is the main reason I returned
    - Adrian improvised wonderfully with the connection problems. Very calm and professional
    - Great resources – problems with connection made it slower unfortunately
    - Great stuff – lots to play with.
    - Always great for new ideas.
    - A must to return next year! So much knowledge and passion. Great to be able to look
    back through his website when I return to school.
    - Great & lots of fun!
