Quest Atlantis Training

Posted by Adrian on Nov-3-08
I’ve been looking for an interesting immersive world for a while to get my son involved in and I think I might have finally found it is Quest Atlantis.

Quest Atlantis is a multi-user 3d learning environment for students. In the environment students participate in quests. These quests appear to be organised around the themes of: Social Responsibility, Compassionate Wisdom, Creative Expression, Diversity Affirmation, Environmental Awareness, Healthy Communities & Personal Agency.

Before a teacher can implement QA in their classrooms they have to participate in 4 professional development sessions. I’ve signed up for the training and installed the software. The training takes place via Skype and starts Tuesday night.

I’ll let you know how it goes. I’ve heard that it is heaps of fun. Maybe you could sign up & join in.

Cheers

Adrian

  1. Lucy Barrow Said,

    Hi Adrian,
This week, I will complete my last Quest Atlantis PD session. I am very, very impressed with the entire program. As part of the training, I’ve had the opportunity to add my daughter as a QA student and we have started working together. Now I can also see it directly from the students’ point of view, which is a little different to working through QA as a teacher. Everytime I login or participate in a PD session, I continue to be amazed at what this program offers – both online and offline activities. We are very excited about the opportunity to offer student programs using QA in 2009. I look forward to hearing your opinions about it!
    Lucy :)

  2. Yvonne Said,

Yes Adrian – it’s great! Have been doing the training and thoroughly enjoyed it – heard of it through SecondLife where I have been involved in Action Learning with Lindy McKeown last year and also met Bron when I was attending some educational PD at Joykadia sim in SecondLife recently. Let me know how you get on :)

  3. Cheryl Said,

    Hi Adrian,
I’m in the middle of my QA training and really looking forward to the teaching opportunities it presents. I think it’s an amazing piece of software! I’d love to know how it is going with teachers who are using it already. Cheryl
