Sound Effects Software for Performance

Posted by Adrian on Jul-30-10
I love to have a performance focus in my classrooms and the Free Harvest Sound Effects Player software adds a whole extra dimension to any play, readers’ theatre or poetry recital.

I’m with @BernajeanPorter when she says that when telling & performing stories we are looking for more than ‘polite listening’ from the audience. I believe we need the audience to engage with the performance and the actors need to explore the production values that will make an ‘ordinary’ piece of text ‘extrodinary’.

I also believe the message we send to students when we are prepared to get outside our comfort zones, tinker with new tools and be seen to be doing ‘new with the new’ is very, very important in developing confident creative thinkers.

Check out a few of the tips and tricks I’ve worked out for using this sound effects software and the link to the download over on my website.

Enjoy!

  1. Meredith Said,

    Hi Adrian,

Thank you for such a wonderful site. As a beginning teacher the resources I have
found on your website have been fantastic. I am working with ESL students and the
games for sight words have been an invaluable resource. Thank you for your time and
free resources. I will definately be recommending your website.

  2. Jean Said,

I used the reciprocal teaching cards with a child going into the 6th grade. The child reads very well, but his comprehension is terrible. The card with the w’s and h were wonderful in helping him understand what he was reading. A teacher saw the cards and I have printed her some and have given her your website. I will tell others about your website.

I like the way you teach!

  3. Heidi Said,

Hi I just have to tell you how much I LOVE your website. I have an 8 year old daughter
who was diagnosed with dysylexia in January, and when I found your site last month
    – a weight was lifted from my shoulders. We have been using some of the phonics
games and she adores them!! So fun!! YEAH!
We modified the “Peter Cottontail game” to include the entire Crazy R family: ar, er, ir, or, ar words — and now she begs to play/read her words.
    FABULOUS!! LOVE IT!! HALLELUJAH!!
Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU!!

As a teacher myself — and now a stay-at-home-mom of three — I cannot thank you
enough for making my “job” just a little bit easier!! Do you do dishes and windows?
    hehehe

    You ROCK!!
